FAQ

Commonly asked questions about private chef services with House Cured Culinary.

How does it work?

Once you choose an available date, Chef Kevin McCombs will work with you on designing a well-balanced menu, catering to all partygoers dietary preferences and restrictions. After the menu and price are agreed upon, your date is locked in. Day of, chef will come to your location, groceries in hand, and cook everything fresh onsite (this is NOT a catering company!). You will receive 5-star service, a custom-dining experience, and your kitchen will be left cleaner than when he started.

How much does it cost?

The price per person varies depending on menu and group size. Services range from $30 per person and up. Why is there such a variable? The amount of courses, what food you choose, and how many people are in your group all play a variable in the cost. Once a price per person is set, that will be your final cost at the end of the night. There are no taxes or hidden fees added on later, and gratuities are completely discretional, as they should be. We will help you work on a menu that fits whatever your budget may be.

What locations do you serve?

Executive chef Kevin McCombs created and built House Cured Culinary in Summit County, Colorado, serving Breckenridge, Keystone, Dillon, Copper Mountain, Frisco, as well as the Vail Valley areas. Recently, the business has expanded to Northwest Arkansas, serving Bentonville, Rogers, Beaver Lake and surrounding areas, as well as Branson, Table Rock Lake and Springfield, Missouri.

Is the experience interactive?

Yes! You get to watch as much or as little of the prep and cooking process that you want. Feel free to ask questions or chat with chef as he’s working. He enjoys interacting with guests almost as much as the actual cooking.

What do I do while chef is cooking?

Whatever you want! The best part about a private chef is you can come and go as you please, wear whatever you want, and your group can mingle comfortably in the living room before heading into the dining room at the predetermined time of your choosing. If you have kids, they can either be part of the dining experience, or you can send them off to play or to bed while you dine.

What type of dining experience do you offer?

Chef Kevin McCombs’ culinary background is in fine dining, most notably working as the executive chef of Keystone’s Ski Tip restaurant, which was voted Best Restaurant in Summit County for many years. If you’re looking for a top-notch, 5-course dining experience, that’s chef’s element. However, one of his favorite meals to cook around his own house is chicken wings and French fries, and he doesn’t discriminate. He will accommodate whatever type of experience and budget you are looking for.

What’s the difference between a private chef and a catering company?

The main difference is the use of a commissary kitchen. Caterers prepare most items offsite in a commissary kitchen and transport food and tableware to and from the service site. Private chefs use the kitchen and dining ware onsite to create and prepare a fresh, gourmet meal, straight from the stove to your plate. Private chefs are able to offer a fresher, more intimate dining experience.

Do you offer cooking classes?

Yes! Chef Kevin offers a variety of classes for any level of cook. Send us a message!
